As our Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll be able to gain on-site, hands on, practical experience in project management, civil engineering and earthworks/geotechnical engineering. You’ll primarily support and manage the delivery of Landfill Cell Construction, Capping and Restoration of Landfill Sites and assist with the installation of Leachate and gas collection infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll also use your skills to provide support to the project management team and support delivery assurance to the business enabling it to meet its operational and long- term objectives. Ensuring that projects are delivered according to best practice health and safety, engineering and project management techniques and standards across different project scales. In addition, you’ll support and manage the information required for planning and permitting.
The ideal Graduate Civil Engineer:
As our new Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll have a degree in Civil Engineering or Geology, with an interest in developing your career in the Earthworks/Geotechnical Engineering field leading to more developed Project Management/Engineering skills and career. You’ll be numerate and a strong communicator with good written and verbal skills, possess a logical and organised approach to work with the ability to be innovative to tackle new areas of opportunity and risk. You’ll have the shared drive of continual improvement that we embed in all areas of our business and your strong relationship building skills will support the stakeholder management at varying levels within the business and with our external partners.
Experience or knowledge of the waste management industry is desirable but not expected as are relevant professional memberships.
For your hard work and commitment, we will work with you, providing mentoring, technical development and support throughout your graduate programme and support professional qualifications and charterships where appropriate.
The roles will be based in the South East and Manchester areas with travel required for both locations, therefore you must hold a full driving license.
