TJ Hughes is currently recruiting for 16 hour Part Time Stockroom Assistant to join our team based at our Eastbourne store. This role is for 16 hours per week, which is typically worked as a 4 hour shift over any 4 days out of Sunday to Saturday. Rate of pay meets national minimum wage / living wage. Responsibilities To work as part of the stockroom team, to ensure that stockfile accuracy is maintained at all times. Receive all deliveries in an efficient and highly organised manner ensuring that all stock is moved quickly and safely from the loading bay to either the shop floor or the stockroom as required whilst keeping HASAWA of paramount importance at all times. Treats all paperwork including invoices and returns notes with the utmost importance ensuring accuracy of details provided both during inward and outward process.Unpacks deliveries in priority order. Careful stock handling to minimise damage to products.All products are priced and where appropriate cubed before going to shopfloor for replenishment.Unloads DC / direct deliveries in an efficient and timely way. When putting stock away in stockrooms, ensure it is in the right location, clearly visible and safely stored in accordance with store standards.Takes pride in ensuring that the stockroom is laid out to high standards conforming to all Health and Safety requirements re: a) use of equipment (e.g. Safety knives / ladders / shelving) b) safe handling of stock in cages / pallets c) manual handling procedures, d) keeps fire exits and gangways clear of products.To support new starters in the stockroom with their induction training.Works with Trading Manager to understand current shopfloor priorities and prioritises own work to support them, e.g. brochure lines.Keeps accurate and systematic paper records inline with requirements of both the Goods In Controller and the Admin Team Leader.Will suggest improvements for stockroom systems and processes.Regularly cleans the stockrooms and loading bay ensuring all rubbish is taken away.Vigilant for both customer and staff theft.General housekeeping.Any other duties as required in accordance with the needs of the business / store operations.
