Please note:  We not accept CV’s.  For an application pack please contact us on 01325 48999 or email judith.gledhillwatch50.co.ukJob Description Play Facilitator Area of work Playscheme for disabled children.  Based at premises in Darlington, and outreach work to take children on outings. Hours of work 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (2 or 3 days per week) during school holidaysRate of Pay:  £7.83 - £8.10 per hour depending on experience Responsible to Project Co-ordinator and Senior Play Facilitator. Aim of the post To ensure children have the opportunity to play in a fun and stimulating environment and provide for their social and personal needs. Main Duties To co-ordinate the activities for a group of disabled and non-disabled children as laid down on the activity plans. To match volunteers with children on a ratio basis. To effectively communicate with parents and carers at the beginning and end of the day. To keep child and volunteers records up to date. To work in liaison with the Senior Play Facilitator and Play Enablers to ensure the health and safety of children. To report any concerns regarding child protection to the co-ordinator in line with current safeguarding / child protection policies. To implement equal opportunities policy and act quickly on any complaints. To be jointly responsible for the up keep and tidying away of equipment. To undertake registers and head counts throughout the day. To work with Play Enablers and Senior Play Facilitators to actively work with any child who exhibits challenging behaviour. To ensure all children are treated with dignity and respect. To be responsible for the giving of medication of any child in your care. Attend meetings and mandatory training events prior to the scheme beginning. Join in with activities to encourage children to participate. Ensure children have their property labelled and returned to them at the end of each day. Any other duties which may be deemed appropriate to the post.                          Person Specification Essential Relevant experience in working with children and young people (minimum of two years)    Ability to work flexibly    Ability to work on your own initiative and without supervision    Ability to organise groups of people    Ability to work as part of a team    Ability to relate to a wide cross section of people    Ability to maintain confidentiality issues    Awareness of Child Protection Issues    Ability to support a team of staff and volunteers Desirable Qualification in working with children and young people or similar      Experience in working with disabled children    Experience in working with children with behavioural difficulties    Experience of working with volunteers    Experience in managing human resources    Working knowledge of child protection Personal Qualities Enthusiastic & Self motivatedCommitment to working with children and young peopleCaring and approachable manner  1E-mail: Judith.gledhill@darlingtondisability.org Website: www.darlingtondisability.org GCSE / Scottish or equivalent
