Quantity Surveyor - Peterborough£ 35,000 + Salary dependant on experience - 44 hours per week.My Client is an Irish Engineering Construction Company who have been established for 42 years and they provide Engineering solutions to Blue Chip Companies. They have worked on projects all over the world and they are a very friendly and supportive company to work in.The main responsibilities for this role - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member )This role is based at Gas Turbine in Spalding.To assist the business by providing commercial support on projects, project control and contract execution, to ensure the recovery of contractual entitlement, recover cash in accordance with the contract, manage risks and opportunities, and ensure that projects are forecasted and reported accurately. Review of contract documentationProject control and contract executionPreparing Cost/ Value reports for projects in liaison with operations including assessment of risks and opportunitiesPreparing, submitting and negotiating interim and final accountsAssisting finance team in preparation of internal monthly accounts including comparisons between project budgets & forecastsClient liaison / attendance at meetingsAdministration of variations, additional works and delay managementCommercial and operational support to ensure contractual notice requirements are metClose working relationship with operations to ensure early identification and resolution of commercial/ performance issuesDispute resolution including identification and preparation of variations and claimsEnsuring adequate records are kept in accordance with contractual requirementsProcurement, payment and management of subcontractorsOther ad-hoc duties as requiredSkills required for this role - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member )Educated to degree level in a Quantity Surveying or another relevant qualification with proven post qualification experienceMember of RICSA full UK driving licence is required for this positionExperience in negotiations with clients and subcontractorsExperience of working on site projects within the engineering construction Industry Experience of planning and executing projectsExcellent level of IT literacy in all areas of Microsoft Office, advanced level in ExcelStrong negotiation / influencing skillsAbility to work within a fast paced and high pressured environmentAbility to prioritise workloadWilling to put forward cost saving or process improvement efficiencies as they arise.Flexible approach, particularly in regard to hours of work and travelTenacious and driven to succeedAbility to communicate effectively at all times within the site team, client and subcontractorsDiligent and excellent attention to detailAble to work effectively with other departments to achieve resultsStrategic and analytical thinkerProblem solving attitudeSelf-motivated and ability to take initiative in resolving problemsGood team playerPrior to applying for this opportunity, please ensure your CV details all your relevant experience relevant to - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member )Additional Resources are an Employment Business and an Employment Agency as defined within The Conduct of Employment Agencies & Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.Key Skills - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member ) GCSE / Scottish or equivalent
