Job description

We are a dynamic and forward-thinking specialist energy efficiency and project management company, the UK arm of a multinational corporation has been established for nearly 44 years. Our UK offices are based in Central London, Bournemouth & Bristol. As a company we specialise within the energy efficiency marketplace specifically Renewable Energy products, Infrared Heating & Led Lighting, Due to our exponential growth, we are seeking a senior Financial Controller. Qualified or part-qualified would be preferred, but candidates qualified by experience or other jurisdictions will also be considered. You will be working with and providing service to our subsidiary and associated companies. We require an experienced financial controller, with responsibilities as follows : The role will involve preparing, examining, and analysing financial reports and records.Strategic project management and budgeting.Building and maintaining relationships with clients.Analysing product costs, revenues, margins and markets to assist the business projects.Liaison with auditors to include management of the year end audit process.Final review and sign off of all month end reconciliations.Monthly cash flow preparation in-line with month end reporting timetables.Production of meaningful KPIs and MI.Creating and maintaining effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures for the business.To complete works in accordance with current guidelines and regulations.Collect tax-related documents and discuss financial status.Analyse accounting systems used to look for inaccuracies and potential improvements.Create efficient methods for accounting and financial record-keeping and help the business to implement them.Work with business managers to assess financial status and identify methods for cost-reduction and efficiency improvements.Attend meetings with management and directors.Present findings or suggestions clearly, both in writing and verbally. What we are looking for: Degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field; certification as required by law where applicable.Competent with Sage 50Ideally an understanding or more of Odoo (a cloud-based software) Must be able to undertake annual accounts, extended trial balance, monthly management accounts, VAT returns, Payroll, general bookkeeping and supervision/mentoring. Full UK Driving Licence.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.An eye for detail.Excellent mathematical skills.Good computer skills.Multi-tasking abilities.Interpersonal skills.Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Organisation skills.Time-management skills.Research skills.Understanding of data privacy standards.Familiarity with tax laws and tax preparation methods. Candidates should ideally have a minimum experience of two years in the role of financial controller. However, having industry-related work experience will also be considered – for example, relevant summer internship or a placement year as part of a sandwich degree within financial control. Working Hours: While hours are typically 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Time management skills are vital, as is a degree of flexibility and the ability to deal with any last-minute problems or instructions that may arise. Working Location: Your working month will be split between Central London.
