Academic Relationship Manager Birmingham Up to £32,000 + company benefits Our client, an innovative, not for profit organisation within the energy sector is currently on the look out for an Academic Relationship Manager to join their established team based in Birmingham. This varied role would involve working closely with stakeholders within the public and education sectors, facilitating and co-ordinating relationships and partnerships on behalf of the company. An ideal candidate will have previous relationship and stakeholder management ideally within the academic or research arena, as well as strong communication and presentation skills. Key Responsibilities: ·         Gathering knowledge of relevant energy systems research activities in Universities and research institutions (both national and internationally) ·         Producing regular reports which keep the company appraised of academic related funding calls and research papers ·         Co-ordinating academic activity across the company ·         Understanding the various funding opportunities that will come when there is a new academic collaboration with the company ·         Working with key individuals within the company, coordinating an academic advisory group to support the core functions ·         Ensuring that all connections and activity is logged on the CRM database ·         Attending stakeholder and business development meetings, providing regular updates of activity and knowledge gained ·         Attending relevant conferences and seminars ·         Ensuring the maintenance of good relationships with academics and research professionals ·         Supporting business development and communications Skills and Experiences: ·         Educated to degree level or equivalent ·         An interest in energy system transformation, decarbonisation and the role of academics within the field ·         Experience successfully managing relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders in the academic and research landscape ·         Strong presentation and communication skills ·         Hard-working, driven, highly organised individual ·         Strong team player whilst being able to self-manage own workload and time ·         Driving License with the ability to commit to regular travel This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic company working at the forefront of their industry.
