Job description

Working for a leading name in food production, your role will be to assist the Technical Manager to ensure that the BRC standard, legislative and customer requirements are met and maintained at all times. Administer the timely generation and amendment of documentation within the Quality Management System. Ensure that trends are effectively identified, reported and corrective actions implemented with regard to microbiological analysis. Work on continuous improvement projects within the business. Job Specification Responsibilities: Deputise in absence of Technical Manager. Assist with customer & 3rd party audits on site. Review micro results on a continual basis to ensure that required standards are achieved. Proactively investigate microbiological non-compliance, report findings and arrange the implementation of corrective actions with the Management Team. Assist with the investigation of customer complaints to bring about ongoing improvements and corrective action, where necessary and assist with complaint correspondence and customer liaison. Conduct supplier audits and assist with the approval of new suppliers and/or raw materials. Active member of the HACCP team. Assist with the maintenance of the quality management system and document control. Provide regular reports and trend analysis on microbiological, supplier, GMP and site related non-compliances as required. Represent the company at regional/national meetings with relevant associations. Qualifications / Experience: Minimum HNC in Food / Science subject or equivalent qualification.Experience of working with retailers is essential .Experience in a Technical / Quality Auditing function within the food industry.Previous experience in quality management systems, internal audits, product label approval, specification and technical documentation generation, environmental hygiene and microbiological standards. Skills: Effective communicator with excellent communication skillsExperience of making key departmental decisions.Demonstrate Good auditing skillsKnowledge of HACCP/participation on a HACCP teamExcellent administrative skillsAble to prioritise tasks, effective planner, attention to detail, articulate, flexible, good time management and able to work to tight deadlinesAbility to complete tasks to agreed deadlinesPC literate – MS OfficeAbility to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision If you feel you have the right skills for the job, please forward your current CV at your earliest convenience.
