To be responsive to industry developments while developing a new and existing client base.To support the Risk Management process of bid opportunities across the all sectorsTo increase sales and profitability by creating a high quality customer base for MITIE consistent with the specialist project construction services.To maintain the security and confidential status of all information so designated; to conduct all activities in a professional manner at all times and procedures are followed  Main dutiesTo forecast sales, including short and long term, for both value and volume, using your own and others information for trends and forecasting.To collate information and evaluate trends and patterns in the market place to indicate future patterns of sales.To liaise with Senior Management as required.To complete a Period Sales Return Form, at the end of each accounting period.To analyse sales information and recommend adjustments to targets following discussions with colleagues and your line manager.To generate potential customers and follow up quality sales leads, including Telesales, journals, articles, newspapers, colleagues, hearsay and cold calling.To make initial contact with potential customers, advise them on benefits and range of services available.To recognise and exploit opportunities to “up-sell” servicesTo maintain records of discussions with potential and current customers about their buying needs and their interest in other services.To maintain a database (Salesforce) of reliable information matching customer needs to service, which is frequently reviewed and up-dated.To visit potential customer sites for a pre-tender walk-round, determine clients’ needs and identifying local problems prior to tendering for the contract.To keep abreast of industry developments and respond in a pro-active manner.To follow protocol, avoid conflict and maintain accurate records of dealings with customers and maintain professional relationships with customers.To continuously monitor one’s own performance against agreed targets.To operate in a confidential and professional manner.To work in a pro-active manner.To take advantage of opportunities to develop ones skills to improve performance.To manage one’s own time to achieve objectives and deadlines.To follow the company’s safety arrangements and procedures.To support the company’s health and safety culture.To keep accurate records and effectively communicate all relevant information.To promote good working relationships with your colleagues and the company’s clients and suppliers.To carry out any other relevant duties as may be required from time to time within purview of the post.To comply in all regards with the company’s objectives in relation to quality assurance procedures and systems.To conduct your actions in a safe manner with particular regards to the Health and Safety at Works Act and any amendments Person SpecificationThe job holder is required to have background and high level experience in the construction industry with specific reference to refurbishment and maintenance contractsExperience in a high level sales role, with a proven track record of target achievementExcellent customer relationship skills and dedicated customer focusIT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Email (Intermediate level)Verbal and Written communication skillsBasic Health & Safety SkillsAnalytical and problem solving skillsEffective MeetingsNegotiation skillsObjective setting skillsAppraisal skillsIntermediate numeracy skillsDriving Licence Working within the Mitie values and behavioursPeople Mitie is a people business.
