Care coordinator:Requirements of the position:A full UK driving licence and have full access to a vehicle.Have a minimum of 2 years of experience of roster/shift management.Have experience in risk assessing and risk management.Have excellent people skills.Requirements of the position.About us:We are a busy domiciliary care agency based near Blackwood, we have an office base of 3 assistants a manager and a trainer. We provide care to adults within their own homes who live in Caerphilly and Torfaen and have been established since 2005.  We currently have a client base of approximately 180 adults and a staff base of approximately 74 carers and 6 office staff.The role of the care coordinator is to manage the allocation of carers to clients ensuring that the clients have the same carer’s week in week out, managing holiday cover and sickness cover. It requires regular reviewing of the set roster to minimise the traveling that the carers are doing bringing down their time traveling and ensuring they have the number of clients that they want in their working day. You will be responsible for keeping our clients informed on any changes to the carers you have allocated to them, if the carers are running late then you will be required to ring the clients and inform them of the estimated time the carers will be arriving.You will be allocated your own team of carers and team leaders who you will be responsible for the allocation of clients, booking staff meetings, booking in supervisions and appraisals. You will have 2 team leaders and approximately 32 care staff within your team. Your team leaders work a mix of office admin, care work and team management.  The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:30 with an hour break.Fridays are 08:30-16:30.We also run a weekend roster for office staff which is currently one weekend in four during your weekend in you will be required to work from 07:00-14:00 and have the option of any two days off the week after your weekend.As this is a care company, if we are short staffed then the office staff are required to provide a backup service so you may end up carrying out personal care tasks if you are not able to cover all of your clients with carers, ensuring you have good communication skills and relationships with the carers in your team, working with them on any issues they may have can improve the retention of your carers and prevent the need to provide personal care and keep you in your main role.
