Job description

We are looking for experienced Health and Safety Advisor. The role of Health and Safety Advisor will be to promote health and safety awareness and to ensure all safety related functions, are carried out. The Health and Safety Advisor will seek to ensure that staff, clients and visitors comply with safety legislation and that all safety policies and practices are implemented and adhered to.   Main Duties Advise and assist with the implementation of SHE-related legislation, rules and standardsAssist departments in fulfilling duties of Principal Designer as required by the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015Provide advice on health and safety, quality and environmental mattersFacilitate all forms of risk assessmentsConduct occupational health and safety related surveysAssist with the preparation of Reports for use by Directors at Board meetingsMonitor the site ”permit-to-work” systemAssist with tender/submission H&S related documentationUpdate and review COSHH assessments in line with any changes in legislationIdentify areas of poor performance and establish a plan for improvementProvide construction phase health and safety plans Implement site waste management plans using the BRE’s Smartwaste online toolPrepare construction phase health and safety plansConduct regular safety audits at sites, offices and plant yardCarry out staff risk assessmentsEnsure fire arrangements are maintained and are in good orderEnsure all company premises have the required up to date HSE posters and other relevant information clearly displayedAssist in investigations and general liability claimsMonitor insurance requirements and promote compliance proceduresTo investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring all documentation is updated and recorded accordingly     Skills Required Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact with people at all levelsAbility to manage multiple tasks Excellent organisational skills and attention to detailAble to use diplomacy during difficult circumstancesArticulate and personable; able to get on with diverse personalitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team Personal commitment to equality and diversityDriving license holder with own car   Qualifications Required NEBOSH Construction CertificateIOSH registered (desirable but not essential)CPCS Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person (desirable but not essential)First Aid at Work   Experience Required Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role (within Construction)
