Job description

Our client is a charity with a prestigious residential home specialising in high-quality care for older people and those living with dementia. They are searching for a Deputy Care Home Manager who will work as a part of the management team and have an active role in the running and success of the home, which looks after 44 residents.The residents are a mixture of elderly and frail people some suffering with dementia.The care home has respite care facilities which allows families with elderly or frail relatives, to leave them for short stay visits.The Trust is proud of its catering team and manages a varied activity schedule for a resident which includes trips out to shop, sightsee etc, seven days a week.You must have: - A track record of delivering excellence in elderly residential care home ideally with 20 + beds / residents. - Experience as a line manager to a dedicated team of Carers and Senior Carers. - Have a good degree in a social care discipline and or an NVQ level 3/4/5 in health and social care, or equivalent. - Experience of writing residents care plans - A demonstrable understanding of the needs of older people in a care home setting. - Working knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and requirements for care, safeguarding and reporting. - Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, DOLS (Depravation of liberties) and the 2008 Health and Social Care Act and the associated 2010 regulations. - Experience of delivering high standards of physical and emotional care and promoting an approach to care which centres on the health and well-being of residents. - Experience of managing medication to comply with the Trust’s, Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other specified guidelines. - Managing the electronic and paper based records relating to medication for Residents so that they are accurate and complete. - Managing the nutritional needs of each Resident, so that each person’s requirements are maintained and recorded including special dietary requirements and the monitoring of calorie intake. - Been delivering regular planned and documented supervisions are conducted frequently and in line with CQC requirements. - Excellent communication, planning and reporting skills. - Good IT skills on Microsoft and or healthcare applications. - Experience of working with external agencies such as the National Health Service, Local Authorities. - A can-do, solution focussed work ethic, with a professional, approachable, caring and conscientious outlook.
