JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:Linen Porter  Responsible To:Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Head Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisors  General Scope &Purpose:To assist the Housekeepers with the daily duties   Tasks:To carry out general and specific cleaning and Health and Safety tasks as specified in the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly task sheets.To aid the housekeeping staff with extra beds, trays and other items which have to be put or taken out of the rooms. To collect pager and answer it at all times when it sounds.To deal with the linen, putting it away and making sure it is ready for collection by our laundry company. To check and replace light bulbs when necessary To deal waste bins.Keep pantries and storage areas tidy and stocked up.Cover any maintenance requirements from Housekeepers.Keep corridors clear at all times.To ensure all cleaning materials are used economically and according top manufacturer’s specifications.To report all maintenance faults, losses and breakages.To sign for and be responsible for all master keys in your possession, and to ensure their safe return to the Duty Housekeeper at the end of your shift, and to comply with hotel security procedures regarding guest accommodation.To hand in all lost property found in the hotel.To ensure that you arrive on duty at the correct time, and that your personal appearance is always well groomed, with the minimum amount of jewellery. Ensure that the correct uniform, shoes are worn and that these are clean and well maintained.Be fully conversant with and act upon the hotel comments/complaint procedures as specified.To ensure all accidents or near accidents caused by hazards are reported. To support your colleagues as part of a team, ensuring the department is always covered, 365 days of the year.To comply with all Hotel and Company rules as outlined in the Staff Handbook.To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.  Health & SafetyTo have a full knowledge of and be able to act upon the Fire procedures as laid down in the Hotel Fire Procedure in compliance with the Fire Precautions Act 1971, and to attend Fire Training as requested.To be fully conversant with and be able to implement the required standards of Health and Safety in accordance with the Heath and Safety at Work Act 1974, and to attend Training as requested.  …………………………………………………………………………………SignatureDate   ……………………………………………………………      Print name CSE or equivalent
