The Halfway House has a modern pub restaurant as well as a purpose-built function room which caters for functions every weekend and has a strong Wedding trade.
They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to team up with our new enthusiastic GM and our established Head chef to produce quality fresh food. You will be also able to work under your own initiative and bring new ideas to the table.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running the kitchen operation in the Head Chef’s absence, maintaining high levels of hygiene control, health and safety throughout the department, staff development and the highest food quality standards. Whilst taking an active part in developing the business as one of the sites management team.
The position has the advantage of potential live on-site accommodation. This is sharing a large flat with the Asst Manager.
The right person may already be a Sous chef looking for a new challenge or someone with at least 2 years’ experience working as a commis chef/chef de partie or higher.
Must be used to working with locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
Capable of using own initiative and ability to be creative and forward thinking.
Knowledge of good stock taking and menu costing a real advantage.
A working trial may be required in order to establish fit for both parties.
Salary: Negotiable (Depending on experience)
