Head of IT Reading Up to £70,000 + car allowance Our Client, a rapidly expanding organisation within the Service sector are looking for an experienced Head of IT to join their team. With over 140 branches the company have grown significantly and this is a great time to join the organisation. The role will primarily involve setting the strategic direction for IT, workforce strategy and the technology portfolio within the business while growing and developing a dedicated IT team. Key Responsibilities: · Managing strategy and governance to enable the business to maximise value from IT in an era of change and growth · Driving cost-effective technology operation and long term strategic success to support corporate goals · Leading the development, approval and implementation of the organisations’ technology strategy alongside the CEO/COO and board · Promoting cross-functional teamwork amongst employees and participating in the design, research, development and implementation of long terms plans to improve the overall financial and operational performance of the company · Developing, tracking and managing the Information Technology annual budgets · Defining and communicating organisational plans, policies and standards for acquiring and implementing IT systems, hardware, software and services · Defining metrics to ensure integrity, reliability, security and performance of information and communication systems · Managing technology service provision in partnership with outsourced service providers · Managing the technology project portfolio to implement enhancements · Sourcing, costing and implementing all new software and hardware requirements Requirements: · A proven and successful track record in a senior management or leadership role in IT where service provision has been undertaken by third parties · Project Management experience – managing and implementing technology project portfolios · Proven leadership skills that are well grounded in technology · Ability to build a team from scratch ideal but not essential · Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of sourcing arrangements and contract management · Experience managing departmental annual budget · Degree level educated in Information Technology or related field ideal This is a permanent, full time opportunity, and is an exciting chance to join a growing company working at the forefront of their industry.
