The main responsibility of the post holder is to assist the Nurse in charge / Senior Carer / EMI Unit Level 3 in charge to provide a high standard of care for those who reside at the home. He/she will work under the direction and supervision of the Care Manager to maintain the health and well being of the residents in a comfortable, safe environment. To receive daily reports on commencing shift, therefore being aware of the changing needs of the residents.To be responsible for assisting in the personal hygiene needs of the residents, including their bathroom needs, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.To maintain the nutritional needs of the residents via observation, encouragement and assistance.To maintain social interaction with the residents and observe their spiritual needs. To encourage participation in social activities.To maintain the health, safety and well being of the residents at all times and during transfer and/or transport, using such aids and equipment that may be deemed necessary.To report any changes which may affect the resident’s, complete the day to day paper work documenting all relevant information in respect of all residents.To ensure that any / all relevant training is continued throughout your employment, assist and participate in activities within the home as required.To actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.To respond in a timely way to residents needing attention Must be able to work as part of a team and alone.Must be able to work shifts i.e.days, weekends, afternoons and nights Must hold or be working towards completing a NVQ health & social care level 2 (ELDERLY CARE) Must have previous / current experience within the care sector / care home environment.
