     JOB DESCRIPTIONNURSERY MANAGER RESPONSIBLE TOAREA NURSERY MANAGER Scope of PositionTo oversee the operation of the day nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and the highest quality of care and teaching is delivered at all times.  To also ensure that children make good progress from their starting points and that the team are supported to have an aspirational vision for children’s progress, in accordance with Shooting Stars Nurseries Policies and Procedures KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Childcare and EducationPromote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children Ensure that teaching is of sufficient quality to ensure children make good progress throughout the EYFS Ensure that children receive regular assessment that every child has a progress check at 2, that progress of all children is tracked and analysed to ensure appropriate strategies for development are in place for all children and for those making less than good practice, this is identified and targeted support is in place To create and foster relationships with local services and provision Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and adhere to Safeguarding Procedures Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family membersTo work with children, families and other services to ensure school readiness is a key priority for pre school children Support the development of good practice with regards to special educational needs and inclusion Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring that provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the local and national guidelines Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies Create and maintain a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery Health and SafetyManage the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents and carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery Adhere to the Company’s Policies and Procedures with regards to Health and Safety Be fully aware, and implement, all emergency and security procedures Be responsible for ensuring that the nursery remains compliant in respect of a suitably qualified staff team with relevant training Be responsible for ensuring that all staff receive Health and Safety training FinanceManage staff costs with regard to budget projections Maintain accurate records and accounts for the nursery and produce management information as required Control costs in line with agreed budgets Understand and utilise management systems and information to maximise commercial benefits OperationalFacilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations Agree and deliver occupancy targets Ensure accurate reporting in respect of occupancy, quality and standards. StaffRecruit, induct, support, train and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high quality childcare and teaching practice Regularly observe staff practice and take an active role in developing good quality practice within the setting Develop and nurture a well-qualified and experienced team able to meet and exceed all relevant standards Identify training needs;
