Job description

We are recruiting for experienced and non-experienced Residential Youth Support Officers to work in our client’s children’s residential homes, secure units and independent living settings. You will be working with young people aged between 10 and 19 with challenging behaviour and complex needs such as autism, eating disorders behaviour, self-harm, aggressive personality and addiction, you must understand the complexities of challenging behaviour and have experience of working or interacting with young children. Candidates must be confident, self-aware, interactive and knowledgeable of the reasons why young people are in care and understand the challenges faced on a regular basis when working within a children’s residential setting. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have aspirations to succeed within this role and make a positive impact on a young person’s life both short-term and long-term. All positions hold a minimum age requirement of 21 and a driving license is required for this position as you will be required to drive the on-site vehicle to take the service users to social activities and family contacts. Please note that you would be required to complete an enhanced DBS and successfully complete one of our induction programmes prior to any placements being offered. Full training and qualifications including Team Teach, CWDC, Child Protection, Working with Self Harm and the Diploma 3 for Children and Young People are provided to the right candidates.
