We are recruiting Qualified and Non - Qualified Trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our experienced team to work in children’s residential care homes, educational settings and Independent Living accommodation units to work numerous shift patterns in Leek and surrounding areas, we also require part-time, weekend support workers and waking night care workers. We are in a unique position in that we can take on individuals that might not necessary have the relevant qualifications and experience as we have a dedicated training department that can train and support individuals to succeed within this role as we believe that some of the best youth workers are those with life experience and are just in need of an opportunity to work within the care sector. You will be working with young people aged 11 to 18 who have been placed into the care system for numerous reasons with an array of disorders, behaviours and needs and therefore we require individuals who have the confidence, understanding, patience and skill set to successfully work with these young people and make a positive impact on their lives. This position involves providing guidance, interaction and support to children and young adults within residential, education or independent living setting with the intention of creating a safe environment that caters for a young persons intellectual, spiritual, social and emotional needs. In this role you will be part of a team to support the children and young people throughout the day with basic tasks as supporting with meal preparation, social activities, family contacts, education and shopping. We are looking for positive role models for the children and young people. Please note we are looking for flexible, reliable and interactive individuals that want to work within a specialist environment where full training and qualifications including Team Teach, Child Protection, St John’s Ambulance First Aid, Understanding Behaviour, Working with Self Harm and Understanding Autism and ADHD are offered. All positions hold a minimum age requirement of 21 and a driving licence is required for this position as you will be required to drive the on-site vehicle to take the service users to social activities and family contacts. Please note that you would be required to complete an enhanced DBS or provide a portable DBS and successfully complete one of our induction programmes prior to any placements being offered unless you are on the new national DBS database. We will also accept applications from individuals that have worked within difficult environments such as army, police, security, education, care and prison service along with graduates.
