Job description

Job Purpose: Helps patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation/assisted mobility. Promote independence. Manage dependent patients.  Undertake duties whilst maintaining communication with patient and involving them in their care. Enhancing patients lives by effective, appropriate interaction. Duties:  Attend promtly for each duty Start Time for report at 8pm and Finish 8am. Provide Feedback to Nurses during and at end of shift. * Provides patients’ personal hygiene by giving bedpans, commode,  urinals, baths, assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths - shampoos, and shaves; Oral hygiene/teeth cleaning.* Assisting with serving drinks,  feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment as required, under direction of Qualified Staff. * Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to Qualified or Senior Staff.* Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records as required.* Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.* Protects organisation’s value by keeping patient information confidential.* Serves and protects the Home’s community by adhering to professional standards, Homes policies and procedures, local requirements and national standards.* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in in-house and external training. * Enhancing Homes reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. * Maintain environment of clients and full Holistic care by completing tidying and readying for next day/activity.Skills/Qualifications:Multitasking, Teamwork, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Caring Skills, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Informing Others, Judgment, Time Management, Care Planning and Management, Effective Time management, Excellent Communication Skill, Flexibility Reliability CSE or equivalent Less than 1 yearCareer levelEntry Level
