Job description

Phoenix Therapy and Care provides a bespoke support service to children and adults affected by illness, injury and disability. Our current Care Inspectorate rating is ‘excellent’ and we pride ourselves on person-centred, empowering and positive values.   We are looking for a Support Worker who has an insight into working in the family home and the ability to adapt to this unique working environment. Are you compassionate, patient, friendly and empathetic? Are you the kind of person who wants to add real value to someone’s life? Do you have excellent communication skills, tact and diplomacy?  If this sounds like you, we can offer you an interesting opportunity.     Our client is an intelligent young woman who became paralysed after a brief illness in 2008. She requires 24 hour care and is ventilator dependent. Mobilisation is assisted by a hoist tracking system and electric wheelchair. She is fed via a gastrostomy tube and has significant medication requirements.   Our client lives in Kinghorn and her accommodation has been adapted to suit her needs. She has a very good relationship with her Mum, who is involved in all aspects of her care. She loves pop music, enjoys shopping, going to concerts and watching TV.   We can offer you 24.5 hours per week, working two 12.25 shifts to include weekend working and waking nights. This is offered on a permanent contract with 5.6 weeks paid holidays. Ventilator experience is not necessary as a full training and supervision programme is in place. A full driving licence is essential. Enquiries from female applicants only.
